Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Offshore ROV Supervisor to join our team at Boskalis. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the ROV teams and overseeing the safe and successful execution of ROV operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in determining field solutions and resolving project obstacles in collaboration with ROV Superintendents and Party Chiefs.
  • Take full responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of offshore personnel, ensuring strict compliance with HSC Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Supervise the maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of assigned ROV systems.
  • Act as a single point of contact for all ROV operations and daily communications with the Client Representative, Party Chief, and onshore management teams.
  • Conduct daily ROV work scope briefings with the Client Representative, Vessel/Installation Managers, and ROV team members to discuss the scope, purpose, and proposed methodology for job execution.
  • Supervise the administration of all ROV documents, including Daily Tool box talks, DSRs, Dive logs, Dive Permits, system maintenance documents, system lifting gear inspections, and re-certifications.
  • On offshore spreads where no Party Chiefs/OPMs are present, the ROV Supervisor acts as the sole point of contact and takes responsibility for PDR, Project briefing, and debriefing in conjunction with the PM and ROV Manager.
  • Allocate tasks and supervise ROV pilots/techs in conjunction with their experience and training, monitoring team performance on a regular basis for feedback on training recommendations and improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with HSC Offshore Evaluation Forms and regular assessment of competencies for all associated ROV personnel.
  • Compile and issue all Offshore Personnel Evaluation Forms for all ROV Pilot Techs (including Freelance Personnel) under the ROV Supervisor's responsibility on each project.
  • Evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules for assigned ROV systems and advise onshore management teams on critical spares and technical support required.
  • Ensure that all permanent ROV modifications are reviewed, documented, and approved as an Engineering note with the ROV base.
  • Ensure that all ROV equipment, tooling, and ancillary sensors are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and safety requirements, and possess their respective maintenance and calibration certificates.
  • Authorized to terminate operations if the ROV system can prejudice the safety and satisfactory performance of the task undertaken.
  • Assist in all safety inspections and ROV Systems Audit to ensure the workplace is maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
  • Ensure that risk assessments are carried out, evaluate processes and activities for the presence of hazards, and assess and control subsequent risks and identify HSE resource requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Higher National Diploma in Engineering, preferably Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
  • Minimum 5 years offshore experience with various classes and types of ROV systems, with a minimum of 3 years as a Senior Pilot Tech/Submersible Engineer on varied projects.
  • Possesses completion of competency certificates as per IMCA C011 and IMCA C05.
  • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry Technical Specifications and Standards.
  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD is an added advantage.
  • Valid Current OPITO, Offshore Medical, H2S, and Sea Survival Certificates.
  • Fluent written and spoken English Language.
  • Knowledge of Administrative software, primarily Microsoft Office.
