Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and analyze indicators of quality across the Ubuntu ecosystem and products, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Continuous Integration: Enhance our continuous integration processes to ensure the quality of Ubuntu images, releases, and packages.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server, and Ubuntu Core, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytical insights, providing data-driven recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Team Enablement: Collaborate with other teams to empower them with the necessary tools and knowledge to improve planning and quality assurance processes.
  • Test Development: Develop, enhance, and automate test cases, from unit tests to end-to-end multi-machine workloads, ensuring comprehensive coverage of our products.
Requirements
  • Software Engineering Background: Strong software engineering, Linux, and open source background, with a deep understanding of software development principles and practices.
  • Programming Skills: In-depth knowledge of Python and Shell scripting, with experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Troubleshooting and Collaboration: Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience working with others to identify, isolate, and resolve complex issues.
  • Quality Processes and Tools: Experience with quality processes and continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar.
  • Agile Development Environment: Experience working in an agile development environment, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
