Job Description:

This role involves managing financial transactions, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting cash/cheques, performing daily cash counts, and resolving any discrepancies.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a reputable organization. A professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is also desirable.

We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will be fluent in English and have proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP). Knowledge of Arabic is also preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial transactions and maintain accounting records.
  • Collect cash/cheques and perform daily cash counts.
  • Resolve any discrepancies and ensure the safekeeping of cash in hand.
  • Deposit cash/cheques in the bank account on a timely basis.
  • Coordinate financial matters with the Head Office finance team.
  • Maintain petty cash and ensure compliance with the company's petty cash policy.
  • Report any non-compliance with approved policies to the CFO/Head Office finance team.
  • Prepare and enter business transactions in SAP for approval/review by authorized personnel.
  • Process reimbursement documents for employee payments.
  • Maintain records of bounced/dishonored cheques and report them to the CFO/Head Office finance team.
  • Prepare and record sales invoices in coordination with the Receivables Accountant.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records, including the general ledger.
  • Provide necessary clarifications and support to internal and external auditors.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of work experience as an Accountant in a reputable organization.
  • Language: Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is preferred.
  • Software: Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, SAP).
