Job Description
The role of the Strategic Operations Lead is to provide strategic and operational input and expertise for operational strategy and future service delivery at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City - SSMC. The position entails establishing consolidated operational plans aligned with the strategic plan of SEHA and ensuring key result areas are defined in the plan and met.
The successful candidate will oversee the development of business and service plans for the group, measuring and managing the group's performance, and providing senior management with group management reports.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of strategic, annual, and business planning processes, incorporating a collaborative approach with other senior officials.
You will support and participate in the development of facility frameworks, policies, and procedures, maintaining a close awareness of best practice and industry standards in different functional areas.
The Strategic Operations Lead will develop/assist in developing a clear development strategy and annual plan for the division, assisting direct reports in establishing strategic plans, goals, and objectives, and providing leadership for their implementation.
Responsibilities include developing the division's annual budget and business plan, managing the division's financial plans and budgets, and taking corrective action when necessary.
You will also develop, recommend, and report on internal budgets for reporting departments, providing consultative services to facility leadership and employees on related matters, including involvement in actual working of the department for monitoring customer service levels.
This role involves interfacing with third-party insurers and negotiating billing (with Finance Division), developing and maintaining relationships with customers and senior stakeholders, and promoting the reputation of facility services.
The Head of Operational Excellence will ensure regular liaison with other corporate divisions to provide appropriate specialist functional support, supporting the development and implementation of cross-division coordination mechanisms and information sharing.
You will advise, support, and challenge employees on performance and decisions, including the appropriate identification, management, and mitigation of risk.
Key responsibilities include ensuring staff are motivated, developed, and managed so that individual and collective performance meets the needs of facility patients and stakeholders.
The Strategic Operations Lead will work with Directors to identify and nurture leadership potential and talent, developing a high-performing team of Managers who work to key performance indicators and are held accountable in terms of delivery.
This role requires providing input and guidance on operational matters and on operational decisions impacting clients and stakeholders of the facility.
Requirements include complying consistently with facility policies, procedures, and practices, aligning with SEHA facilities policies.
The successful candidate must complete and maintain regulatory requirements, including licensure and certification, and other mandatory training within established time frames.
Maintaining confidentiality regarding any information exchanged or received in the current capacity of role, in accordance with facility policy, is essential.
The Strategic Operations Lead assumes the role of a brand ambassador for the facility, promoting a customer-focused philosophy in dealing with any stakeholders.
A positive and effective working relationship within the department/division and also with other departments/sections within the facility is required.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned relevant to the basic responsibilities of the role is also expected.
Adhering to requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety guidelines and infection control guidelines is crucial.
Understanding and adhering to emergency preparedness plans/policies is also a requirement.
Dressing appropriately to meet the expectations of the specific work area, in alignment with the Occupational Health and Safety policies, is necessary.
Building key partnerships within the organization for pursuing client-centered, comprehensive, integrated systems of care is an important responsibility.
Complying with regulations related to mentoring, training, and development of UAE nationals staff is also expected.
