Job Summary

Global Pharma Tek is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Lab. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monitor Patient Vital Signs: Continuously monitor patients' blood pressures and inform physicians of any changes from baseline.
  2. Interpret Diagnostic Data: Interpret intracardiac pressures and record pressures in all chambers requested by physicians.
  3. Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain a complete record of all events occurring during a procedure through the use of the Cardiac Cath Lab computer.
  4. Operate Diagnostic Equipment: Calibrate and operate equipment during procedures, including A-Vox, Cardiac Output, and ACT.
  5. Communicate Results: Inform physicians and monitoring CVT of results and supply them with equipment during procedures.
  6. Process Data: Responsible for all data analysis, processing data through computer, and printing out all appropriate information.
  7. Prepare Equipment: Set up and calibrate the intra-aortic balloon pump, set the initial timing, and fine-tune the timing with the physician once the balloon is in place.
  8. Monitor Patient Care: Monitor the balloon pump during the procedure and stay with the patient until they are in the CCU, OR, or the CSICU.
  9. Respond to Emergencies: Assist in emergency situations by performing resuscitation measures, including operating defibrillator, performing artificial resuscitation, external pacemaker, and suctioning patients.
  10. Maintain Equipment: Replenish supplies in the lab as necessary and perform preventative maintenance on equipment utilizing an understanding of the mechanical workings.
  11. Report Issues: Notify supervisor of any serious malfunctions and equipment shortages.
  12. Stay Current: Responsible for learning and applying new technology and/or procedures as they are introduced to the Cardiac Cath Lab.
  13. Support Procedures: Operate power injector for large volume dye contrast injections and assist in cardiac catheterizations by setting up equipment and instruments in a sterile field.
  14. Prepare Patient Rooms: Set up rooms for each patient by entering name, MR number, and appropriate information into the DX.
  15. Support Nursing Staff: Assist the nursing staff by transporting patients from one area to the next.
