This role involves managing the assigned Pastry / Bakery kitchen section, preparing and cooking food, and maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day food preparation and cooking in the Pastry / Bakery kitchen section, under the direction of the senior Chef.
  • Maintenance of all items at a sufficient level to ensure an uninterrupted flow of food during service, controlling quantities prepared in accordance with recipes.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of kitchen and food preparation areas when left unattended.
  • Correct handling and basic maintenance of all equipment and tools in the kitchen.
  • Familiarization with rules regarding hygiene, stock rotation, dating, storage, temperature control of refrigerators, pest control, reporting of faulty equipment, and reporting of absenteeism due to sickness or otherwise.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in the same or similar role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurants.
  • Internationally recognized professional certification.
  • An excellent level of English.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Excellent team management, communication, and listening skills.
  • Demonstrate integrity in all dealings and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Able to work long shifts and stand for extended periods of time.
