Our client is a leading global energy company that engages in the exploration, production, transportation, and sale of crude oil and natural gas. The company operates through three main segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Safety Engineer to join our Loss Prevention organization. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day in-field occupational and process safety support to our operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement Safety Management System: Develop associated safety processes and participate in self-assessments to ensure compliance with company and international codes and standards.
  2. Conduct Field Inspections: Assess compliance with company and international codes and standards, identify safety concerns, formulate solutions, and develop practical and cost-effective corrective actions.
  3. Identify and Evaluate Safety Risks: Recommend actions and follow up on critical safety tasks and control methodologies related to operational safety practices.
  4. Participate in Safety Studies: Use risk assessment and mitigation methodologies such as PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys.
  5. Respond to Emergency Situations: Provide technical assistance and advice during or after regular working hours.
  6. Support Contractor Safety Management: Monitor worksite compliance and measure performance.
  7. Investigate Incidents: Determine root causes and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  8. Deliver Training: Provide Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties.
  9. Mentor Loss Prevention Personnel: Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues.
Requirements:

This role requires the candidate to relocate permanently to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an Accredited Institution.
  • Possess seven years of experience as a safety professional in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries with a strong track record of delivering results.
  • Comprehensive experience covering both occupational and process safety.
  • Excellent communication skills in English capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
