Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of standard estimating activities on assigned projects/programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare material takeoffs from engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD and other software.
- Assist in developing and preparing detailed work breakdown structures (WBS) for contracts, projects, and program elements to support estimate development and delivery.
- Accumulate, evaluate, and document cost data from completed contracts, including work activity, delivery means and methods, productivity, activity durations, supervision, and craft man-hour utilization.
- Prepare and summarize the bases of estimate (BOE) development, including estimate scope, method of development, pricing, labor, material, and equipment rates, assumptions, and exclusions.
- Utilize parametric historical estimate data to develop a reasonable estimate of probable cost based on high-level scope definition and preliminary intent for a capital asset.
- Prepare and summarize tasked estimates, including labor and material rates, equipment rates, productivity rates, efficiencies, and other resources and impacts that determine unit cost.
- Utilize training in estimating software and tools necessary to perform quantity takeoffs, estimate calculations, bid item detail development, resource reports, and work activity definition.
- Obtain quotations by developing necessary information to define specification and scope of work for subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Accumulate, classify, and document historical cost data from previously performed contract services delivered by the company for use in future company estimates.
- Review contract documents to assess contract risk and significant exposure to estimated cost if potential risks are experienced.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Fresh UAE National graduates are welcome to apply or minimum 1 to 3 years of related work experience involving typical estimating activities.
- Understanding of, and ability to work with, construction contract commercial documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Previous experience using estimating database supported software.
- Familiarity with typical project controls software such as Primavera scheduling software, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, and DMCS.
