  • Language Skills: Strong English writing and speaking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with our team and stakeholders.
  • Geographic Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Middle East and/or Sub-Saharan Africa, with a deep understanding of the geopolitical landscape.
  • Self-Discipline and Teamwork: Strong self-discipline and self-management skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on a single contributor project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Education: Master's degree in a related field, such as International Relations, Global/International Security, Terrorism, or Political Science.
  • Industry Experience: Military, government, law enforcement, or corporate security experience, with a strong understanding of risk management and threat intelligence.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in Turkish, Zulu, Afrikaans, Xhosa, or another South African language.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity and mastery of various technology platforms, such as geospatial tools, news aggregators, and scraping platforms.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to work with multiple, competing deadlines, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Professionalism: Professional demeanor and ability to communicate with all levels of business leadership and staff.
