Electrical Engineer - ELV Systems

Stantec is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as an ELV Engineer for a construction supervision project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and reviewing electrical works related to ELV and IT systems, ensuring compliance with contract documents and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor and review electrical works related to ELV and IT systems for conformance with contract documents and procedures.
  2. Review, approve, and process all ELV and IT technical submittals.
  3. Prepare preliminary answers to RFIs related to ELV and IT works.
  4. Coordinate and supervise pre-installation work of selected ELV and IT activities and operations.
  5. Review contractors' ELV and IT change order proposals and prepare recommendations to the Senior Electrical Engineer.
  6. Liaise with sub-consultants as required.
  7. Assist with the review of contractors' claims related to ELV and IT works and prepare recommendations for claims.
  8. Assist with the review of contractors' project record documents relevant to their discipline.
  9. Assist with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover of ELV and IT works.
  10. Prepare sign-off packages for completed electrical works with completed documentation for sign-off by the Senior Electrical Engineer.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum 10 years' experience as an ELV Engineer with 3-5 years in construction administration in the UAE/Middle East.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or ELV/IT.
  3. Strong technical background on ELV and IT systems.
  4. Good oral and written communication skills.
  5. Good knowledge of ELV and IT systems, products, and materials.
  6. Good oral and written communication skills.
  7. Knowledge/experience in AutoCAD.
  8. Good command of Microsoft Office business solutions (Excel, Word).
  9. Ability to review and comment properly on necessary documentation.
  10. Excellent understanding of specifications.
  11. Good understanding of Authority requirements.
  12. Complete project understanding in the given discipline, from start to hand-over.
