Egis Group is seeking an experienced Steel Finishing Technician to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for applying high-quality protective and decorative coatings to steel structures, equipment, and components in various industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, and remove rust or old paint from steel surfaces prior to painting.
- Paint Application: Apply primers, paints, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Coating Thickness: Ensure proper coverage and thickness of coatings to meet quality standards.
- Inspection and Touch-up: Inspect completed work for defects and touch up as necessary.
- Maintenance of Work Area: Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adherence to Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures when handling paints and equipment.
- Collaboration with Team Members: Collaborate with other team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of materials used and work completed.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in industrial painting, preferably with steel structures.
- Proficiency in various painting techniques for steel surfaces.
- Strong knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and application methods.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and blueprints.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to work in various positions and handle painting equipment.
- Understanding of corrosion protection methods and industrial coating systems.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in industrial painting is preferred.
- Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) related to working with hazardous materials are a plus.
- Detailed-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Efficient and organized work habits.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and at heights when necessary.
