Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Registration Specialist to join our team at NMC Hospital. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth registration process for all outpatients.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Registration Process: Register all outpatients upon arrival, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to hospital policies.
  2. Identification: Verify patient identity documents, such as Emirates ID or passport.
  3. Insurance Eligibility: Check patients' insurance eligibility for approval.
  4. Scheduling: Schedule, reschedule, cancel, and confirm outpatient and medical services as required.
  5. Registration Completion: Initiate accurate processes to complete patient registration, whether through insurance or self-payment.
  6. Cash Collection: Collect payment from patients, including cash, deductibles, co-insurance, and co-payments, according to insurance and/or Statement of Benefits (SOB).
  7. Department Coordination: Coordinate with nursing and other departments to resolve patient queries.
  8. Delayed Services Notification: Inform patients about delays in diagnostic or treatment services.
  9. Directing Patients: Direct patients to the appropriate clinics or areas.
  10. Document Submission: Submit documents related to cash collection and refunds to the Chief Cashier.
  11. Record Maintenance: Maintain records for authentication purposes, reporting to the Billing Supervisor.
  12. Cash Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash and credit card collections before closing, and report any excess or shortfalls to the Chief Cashier.
  13. Cash Deposit: Deposit collected cash into the Main Cash Box.
  14. Rectification Coordination: Coordinate with the Clinic and service-providing units for rectification of documents and reports requested by the Back Office Claims Submission Team.
  15. New Employee Training: Assist in training new employees as directed by the supervisor.
  16. Knowledge of Insurance Protocols: Possess knowledge of insurance protocols.
  17. Preauthorization Coordination: Coordinate with the insurance department and clinic for preauthorization of services.
  18. Basic Medical Terminology: Demonstrate basic knowledge of medical terminology, limited to front office operations.
