Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Specialist in Neonatal Intensive Care to join our esteemed team at University Hospital Sharjah. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional care to our neonatal patients and ensuring their well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to advocate for patients and guarantee the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Ensure adherence to medication administration policies, including the safe handling of prescribed medications as per professional scope.
  • Continuously monitor patient conditions and promptly report any changes to the relevant healthcare personnel.
  • Exhibit sensitivity towards patients' comfort and privacy, demonstrating genuine interest in their recovery progress.
  • Utilize and maintain medical equipment and instruments, reporting any issues to the appropriate departments immediately.
  • Engage in nursing quality improvement initiatives, participate in educational programs, unit meetings, and assigned committee functions.
  • Initiate and uphold emergency and safety protocols, including fire safety measures.
  • Document and report all incidents through the established channels, ensuring completion of incident reports and taking necessary immediate actions.
  • Maintain inventory of unit supplies and consumables, adhering to facility policies regarding medication expiry and storage.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality at all times, ensuring privacy and trust.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions as scheduled, ensuring compliance with professional development requirements.
  • Commit to ongoing professional clinical practice and actively engage in educational activities to enhance knowledge.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a BSc in Nursing or a Diploma in Nursing, with a minimum study duration of three years.
  • At least two years of post-graduation experience, including a minimum of one year in the NICU specialty.

Preferred:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.

Licenses/Registration Requirements:

  • Current nursing license from the country of origin.
  • UAE Ministry of Health License.
