Job SummaryWe are seeking a Safety Engineer specializing in Drilling & Workover Operations to join our Loss Prevention organization.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day infield occupational and process safety support to our operations, as well as centralized technical support and consulting services.
Key Responsibilities- Implementing our Safety Management System, including developing associated safety processes and participating in self-assessments.
- Inspecting onshore and offshore drilling rigs, workover equipment, and other support facilities with in-depth knowledge of well control equipment and procedures.
- Identifying, evaluating, and recommending actions for critical safety tasks and control methodologies related to operational safety practices.
- Participating in safety studies and activities using risk assessment and mitigation methodologies, such as PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, or insurance surveys.
- Developing and/or reviewing corporate safety standards, instructions, and procedures related to upstream operations.
- A bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Seven years of relevant experience in the oil and gas upstream industry with a strong track record of delivering results.
- Experience in various areas, including drilling and workover operations, well planning and approval, reservoir management, geology and geophysics, project management for upstream facilities development, oil and gas field development, simultaneous operations (SIMPOS) between upstream and construction/downstream operations, offshore and onshore drilling rig safety inspections, managerial audits/assessments, and safety program and emergency response plans development.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
- Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
