Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct diverse opto-electronic test-bench configurations and execute testing on associated UUT (Unit Under Test) devices.
  • Evaluate electronic circuit boards utilizing suitable testing apparatus to confirm optimal performance, functionality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Engage with engineers, clients, suppliers, and others to deliberate on current and prospective engineering initiatives or products.
  • Interpret blueprints, assembly schematics, and operational instructions to ascertain various components and materials necessary for the assembly process.
  • Verify that assembled products meet specifications; compare completed items to Customer Bill of Materials for accuracy regarding components utilized, board population, electronic assembly, etc.
  • Examine PCB Electronic Assemblies for defects, including solder quality, parts alignment, missing components, visual damage, etc.
  • Perform in-circuit testing (ICT) for shorts, resistance, and capacitance to evaluate whether the printed circuit boards (PCB) were manufactured correctly.
  • Diagnose and rectify failures, component malfunctions, and manufacturing defects using light tools, hand tools, and electronic testing and repair equipment.
  • Execute component-level repairs of PCBs, including soldering and de-soldering of through-hole and SMT components, adhering to IPC Class III soldering standards.
  • Assess material and equipment requirements and procure supplies accordingly.
  • Conduct routine corrective and preventive maintenance of PCBs to ensure safe and efficient operation, maximizing output.
  • Maintain detailed logs and records of related tests, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and teams to ensure optical systems fulfill all necessary performance criteria.
  • Explore the utilization of cutting-edge optical components, tools, materials, and technologies.
  • Assist production facilities in the manufacturing and assembly of optical systems.

Experience & Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum: 0-1 years of practical experience in maintenance or assembly within a military context.
  • Preferred: Relevant experience in a manufacturing setting, and/or 3 years of hands-on experience in an electronic PCB assembly line, either manually or utilizing Automated SMD machines or similar.
