  • Promote effective communication and challenge within the EPC Contractors Engineering team to foster safe, cost-effective, fit-for-purpose, and constructible piping designs.
  • Provide technical leadership and decision-making for piping engineering work carried out by EPC contractors.
  • Participate in project safety and design reviews to ensure that piping engineering work meets the required standards.
  • Provide technical assistance, direction, and support during construction and installation activities.
  • Liaise and report to our clients' senior management on piping engineering progress and issues.
  • Troubleshoot piping design issues, identify and resolve engineering and/or fabricator queries, and raise and resolve site/technical queries.
  • Attend daily/weekly engineering progress meetings and generate status reports as required.
  • Manage the change process, including reviewing proposals to ensure that they meet our quality and safety standards.
  • Assist construction personnel with general technical queries and details.
  • Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
  • Provide resolution for technical piping engineering problems, coordinate the application of solutions, and ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule.
  • Develop and maintain excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the piping discipline and the basic requirements of other disciplines.
  • Stay up-to-date with applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum five (5) years (preferred) in the GCC region.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • Offshore experience is a must, while ADNOC experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Experience working in a multi-project/multi-disciplined environment and throughout all engineering and design phases of projects.
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
