Job DescriptionThis role involves teaching GCSE English and A-Level English to secondary students, as well as mentoring and supporting colleagues to improve their practice. The ideal candidate will be a subject specialist with a deep understanding of the curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment requirements. They will be able to develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to improve student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Assessment: Plan, deliver, and assess GCSE and A-Level English lessons to secondary students, ensuring high levels of student engagement and academic achievement.
- Mentorship and Support: Provide guidance and support to colleagues to improve their teaching practice, share best practices, and promote a culture of continuous professional development.
- Leadership and Management: Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures, participate in school-wide initiatives, and collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.
- A bachelor's degree in English or a related field, with a B.Ed. or PGCE/PGDE qualification.
- Minimum four years of qualified teaching experience in secondary English, including a leadership role.
- GCSE level teaching required; A-Levels preferred.
- Experience teaching GCSE English (A-Level experience preferred).
- A passion for career growth, leadership, and sustainability.
- The ability to share best practices and inspire excellence.
- Strong IT and interpersonal communication skills to engage with students and parents.
