Job Summary:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Specialist to manage all contract and procurement activity for a secondment role with one of our key Clients in our Abu Dhabi sector. The successful candidate will represent the Company and our Client in negotiations of a commercial and contractual nature.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the procurement process from reviewing documents that form part of the RFP, obtaining any approval of documents, managing the tender process to ensure coverage of prices, benchmarking of prices received, conducting prospective supply chain interviews, recommending a tenderer for award, and negotiating subsequent contracts.
  2. Negotiate contracts and subsequent contract modifications.
  3. Draw upon broad prior experience to effectively manage risk.
  4. Use experience to negotiate equitable terms and conditions both upstream and downstream and advise stakeholders on why a condition/risk is best managed by a certain party.
  5. Identify risks, undertake risk assessment, and propose mitigation strategies.
  6. Manage the Parsons commercial team on the seconded opportunity.
  7. Perform tasks required by the Client on an as-needed basis.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or degree in Quantity Surveying.
  2. Minimum 10 years' experience in industry from a commercial and contractual experience within large international engineering and construction firms looking after infrastructure and residential projects.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and commercial and contractual matters.
  4. Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of standard software packages typically associated with contract administration.
  5. Capability of independently managing complex commercial and contractual matters.
  6. Proven ability to manage and direct work involving complex situations.
  7. Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  8. Comprehensive knowledge of industry business practices and negotiation of contracts.
  9. Chartered by a recognized international body such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be advantageous.
