We are looking for a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at MAJID AL FUTTAIM. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a vital role in shaping the company's legal strategy and providing expert guidance on regional laws and regulations.
Main Responsibilities:- Legal Strategy: Develop and implement effective legal strategies to support the company's business goals.
- Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and draft complex contracts, ensuring fair and reasonable terms.
- Advisory Services: Provide expert advice on legal matters, including regional laws and regulations.
- Litigation Support: Assist in overseeing litigation, monitoring external counsel performance, and managing billings.
- CORPORATE GOVERNANCE: Support corporate governance activities, including company establishment and liquidation, trade license management, board meetings, signatory authority updates, and powers of attorney.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain and update knowledge management systems, ensuring easy access to critical information.
- Education: Law degree from an accredited university.
- Experience: 6+ years' legal experience in both private practice and in-house in a similar role.
- Communication Skills: Expert level of English communication, both written and oral.
- Drafting Experience: Knowledge in drafting complex retail-related, civil & commercial agreements.
- International Experience: Gulf Cooperation Council, regional, or other international experience.
- Presentation Skills: Articulate and good presentation skills.
