Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Engineer to join our team at MatchaTalent. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of project assessment and delivery of project requirements during the Front-End Loading (FEL) phases. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for leading the formation and activities of the Integrated Project Team (ITP) and driving major project decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Capital Efficiency Implementation: Refine and implement Capital Efficiency items identified from prior grassroots steam cracker complexes.
  2. Scope Definition: Take responsibility for defining the scope bases of the Steam Cracker and C4 Coproducts facilities.
  3. Technology Selection: Provide recommendations for technology selection and offer technical input to Linear Programming (LP) and Economics.
  4. Licensor Selection: Define bid slates selection criteria and methodology for selecting Steam Cracker and Coproducts licensors with the support of a Technologist.
  5. Technical Analysis: Collaborate with the Technologist to review technical analysis and make recommendations for adjustments, then review the analysis conducted by the Economic modeler.
  6. Document Development: Develop, review, and approve Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents, Facility Design Basis document, and technical interface bases in coordination with the Contractor.
  7. Technical Readiness: Develop a plan for technical readiness for the refinery upgrader Steam Cracker and Coproducts.
  8. Remote Support: Coordinate remote support from additional Process Specialists as needed to support Licensor selection and technical basis setting.
Requirements:

This role requires a candidate to relocate to a new location. The candidate should hold a minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program, possess 10 years of experience in the Refining & Chemicals business with a focus on integration. Previous experience in Project Engineering Design and Execution for refinery and chemicals plants is necessary. The candidate must be able to provide technical input to the Linear Programming (LP) Model and evaluate its results, make recommendations for adjustments and improvements. Experience in chemicals derivative process licensor selection and technology analysis, familiarity with refinery and residue processing technologies, providing technical services for Olefins and Polymers, knowledge of Olefins and Polymers operations, ability to develop chemical process yields and qualities, understanding of operating expenses (opex) associated with a Chemicals Complex, experience in developing the scope basis for chemicals facilities, proficiency in chemicals detail engineering and design, and capable of providing technical input to LP and economics.
