About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Professor to join our School of Engineering at University of Wollongong Dubai (UOWD). As a key member of our academic team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching and research in the field of Computer Engineering, with a focus on Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Real-time Systems, Embedded Systems, and High-Performance Computing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical classes, and workshops in Computer Engineering and related subjects.
  • Conduct and publish research in the field of Computer Engineering, with a focus on Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Real-time Systems, Embedded Systems, and High-Performance Computing.
  • Supervise students' capstone projects and contribute to reviews and continuous improvement of the discipline.
  • Engage with industry and academic colleagues for collaborative research and knowledge exchange.
  • Assist with student services, including recruitment, registration, onboarding, and support.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • PhD. Degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline from a reputable and recognized international institution.
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, preferably in Computer Engineering.
  • Well-established teaching experience of at least 6 years post PhD in at least two or more of the specialized subjects - Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Real-time Systems, Embedded Systems, and High-Performance Computing.
  • Experience in supervising students' capstone projects and research.
  • Active research record in the field of Computer Engineering with relevant research output in recognized international journals as well as evidence of research leadership, collaboration, and successful acquisition of research funding.
  • Fluency in English language (both spoken and written).
