Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the building management system (BMS) and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system within the data center. This includes monitoring all electrical, ELV, and fire/life safety equipment, as well as HVAC plant activities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Operates and maintains the BMS for proper function and monitors the DCIM against approved benchmarks to include; HVAC, Lighting, Fire Suppression, Generator, Plumbing, and Electrical.
  • Carries out routine checks for correct operation of all control equipment as directed by the Facility Engineer.
  • Monitors the operation of the HVAC control systems using the BMS/DCIM to monitor performance.
  • Adjusts variables and provides adjustments as required to ensure systems are operating correctly within parameters.
  • Monitors and records values of HVAC systems to build up a database of records to provide data for energy efficiency improvement.
  • Communicates all maintenance and repair actions in writing for information to management as required.
  • Folllows the protocols for any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
  • Monitors and verifies the operation of all BMS/DCIM field devices.
  • Adjusts BMS settings and parameters to meet changing conditions, i.e., Load, Environmental, Customer needs, etc.
  • Records maintenance data and generates reports as needed.
  • Maintains job card documentation for all alarms or changes to systems and/or equipment.
  • Monitors the fire detection alarm system, including smoke detectors, heat detectors, sprinklers, and emergency exits, in coordination with the Safety Function.
  • Monitors water tank supply level alarms, air handling units, and fresh air handling units.
  • Monitors and controls the fire pump system, motors, sewage pump, electrical system, and water system in the Data Center building.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Facility Engineer.
  • Daily checks the healthiness of all facilities equipment and keeps daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
  • Creates job cards in CAFM (FSI) Mobile App as per site requirements and closes the job cards as assigned by the Engineer.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to emergency calls.
  • Reviews and understands equipment and methods of operation, electrical systems, ELV system, fire/life safety, and other systems.
  • Complies with all safety procedures and requirements.
  • SUPPORTS any after-hours building needs and activities as required.
  • Attends training sessions and seminars.
  • Other assigned tasks as requested.
