Job Title: English Teacher - Academic Excellence

At Crystel, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced English Teacher to join our team. As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in enabling the success of our students and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Teaching and Curriculum Development: Teach English using the provided lesson plans and develop such plans based on provided pacing charts as relevant and needed, to ensure an environment conducive to learning in the classroom.
  2. Assessment and Evaluation: Mark exams related to English subject matter in accordance with the schedule and material provided by the department.
  3. Student Support and Guidance: Discuss disciplinary and student performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and head of department (HOD) as needed.
  4. Classroom Management: Implement the SABIS point system to ensure an environment conducive to learning in the classroom.
  5. Exam Support: Provide support by invigilating exams as needed in an adequate and properly managed exam environment.
  6. Student Support and Motivation: Provide support for academically low-performing students, to help improve and get motivated to reach their potential.
  7. External Exams Preparation: Develop and/or follow external exams preparation by going through past papers as planned in the structured revision schedule (when applicable to specific grade).
  8. Administrative Support: Aid in duties that may include testing children, substituting for absent teachers, organizing children for lunches and buses, controlling traffic (vehicles and people), and other administrative duties that may be assigned to him/her by the school SABIS management.
  9. Student Life and Events: Prepare and participate in activity plans for all such student life-related events such as but not limited to art, open house, and physical education in coordination with the student life coordinator.
  10. Professional Development: Attend training sessions when needed and as per the request of school management in order to enhance their understanding of the SABIS system improving their performance.
  11. Additional Responsibilities: Perform such other related tasks or projects as they arise and as delegated by the school SABIS management.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor degree in a related subject matter and/or equivalent.
  2. Technical Skills: MS Office needed components.
  3. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and management.
  4. Teamwork: Ability to work within a team and contribute to a positive and productive learning environment.
