Job Title: Special Education Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Teacher / Coordinator
About the RoleUnited International Private School LLC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Teacher / Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and assessing the learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, as well as the environmental factors that affect learning and adjustment.
Key Responsibilities- Recommend suggestions on the needs for special education and work with the Guidance Counselor on the students' special education needs and the Medical Staff on health concerns.
- Coordinate with the Guidance Counselor in interviewing all new students and conduct counseling interviews for students with special needs and disabilities periodically and follow-up interviews for those who will need or request for it.
- Promote the mental health and emotional well-being of the SEND students through carrying out guidance programs in accordance with the rules and regulations of the School and the UAE.
- Consult with competent persons concerning gathering of data about students which may be needed in future research for the benefit of the school.
- Undertake individual/group testing of students to obtain guidance data that may be used for future projects/programs of the school.
- Recommend the exclusion from school of any student who shows departure from normal health, who has been exposed to a communicable disease, or whose presence may be detrimental to the health and cleanliness of other pupils.
- Maintain accurate records of information and documentation related to the students' social, emotional and mental health concerns.
- Implement an effective referral and follow-up process to appropriate persons or agencies.
- Acquaint teachers with SEND teacher and the services available.
- Develop and apply instruments for gathering guidance data.
- Conduct assemblies on causes of students' disabilities and of prevalence of absences, drop-outs and failures, etc.
- Organize and supervise procedures for identifying and addressing special needs of students including health-related matters.
- Offer consultation, advice and support for parents who have concerns about their child/children.
- In coordination with the SEND Coordinator, create and recommend programs for SEND students.
- Ensure that the SEND teachers are following the programs with the right phasing.
- Perform other related tasks as determined and/or assigned by the appropriate school authorities.
- FEMALE
- With Special Education degree
- Licensed Professional Teacher / LET Passer
- At least 2 years experience in related field
- Employment Certificate/s
- With Master's Degree is a PLUS
- 2 years contract (renewable)
- Accommodation and food allowance shall be in accordance with the position with a minimum of 1,000 AED
- Paid Home leave of 30 working days
- Free transportation from accommodation to the worksite and back
- Free airfare
- Visa / Work Permits to be provided for free
- Accident / Life / Health insurances will be provided as per UAE Labor Laws
