Job Summary:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Safety Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of corporate HSE management ethics and promoting a culture of safety within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Parsons Oman's HSE policy, HSE plan, and HSE legislation, monitoring performance and suggesting measures for improvement.
  • Liaise with the Safety Manager and contractors to enhance corporate HSE management ethics.
  • Monitor contractors to ensure the implementation of applicable safety measures and best practices.
  • Review hazard analysis/risk assessment plans for all key activities and monitor the effectiveness of hazard control measures, job safety plans, and work method statements at the site.
  • Review and monitor contractors' monthly HSE inspections/reports.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings, set targets to achieve outstanding issues, and prepare/submit minutes to all concerned for follow-up.
  • Review emergency preparedness and response, permit to work systems, toolbox talks, HSE meetings, HSE statistics, and records of contractors according to company requirements.
  • Review incident/accident investigation reports from contractors, report and communicate learning points, and monitor immediate action and follow-up actions to minimize/prevent re-occurrence.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma (3 years) in civil engineering.
  • Minimum 8+ years of related work experience in the field of health and safety, particularly in infrastructure projects.
  • Recognized health and safety certifications, licenses, or training in the UAE (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, IOSH, Fire Safety, etc.).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Preferably with relevant experience working in an engineering consulting firm.
  • Preferably with experience in the UAE and a driving license is an advantage.
  • Preferably able to attend physical interviews.
