About the Role

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in a key role that will involve designing and developing civil engineering concepts for various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site development, pipe and open channel hydraulics, and stormwater management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Civil Engineering Design and Development: Design and develop civil engineering concepts for various projects, including site development, pipe and open channel hydraulics, and stormwater management.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from conceptual to detailed design, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Site Visits and Field Investigations: Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and information for project development and design.
  • Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, design criteria, and detailed material take-offs for projects.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and work with civil designers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Education: Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering with eligibility to register or already registered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.
  • Experience: 4-8 years of experience in civil engineering design within mining, energy, and/or industrial projects of varying stages from conceptual to detailed design.
  • Skills: Solid experience in site development, pipe and open channel hydraulics, stormwater management, and tailings/slurry piping design. Working knowledge of various piping materials, fittings, and joining methods. Sound knowledge in stormwater runoff calculations, sizing ditches, culverts, and ponds. Good understanding of various coordinate systems and survey controls. Excellent organizational, technical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Authorization: Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
