Job Summary
The SHEQ Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Company's Integrated Management System (SLIMS) and HSE standards at assigned contracts.
The role involves conducting internal SLIMS audits, assisting in the execution of corrective or preventative actions, and promoting safe practices through group campaigns, competitions, and incentives.
The SHEQ Officer will work closely with the Contract Manager to ensure compliance with SLIMS and HSE standards.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in safety and compliance, with experience working in a similar role.
Responsibilities
- Ensure SLIMS implementation at Contract level.
- Conduct Internal SLIMS audits.
- Assist in the execution of corrective or preventative actions.
- Conduct SLIMS familiarization and Shore training.
- Monitor SLIMS Crew training programmes / e-learning.
- Deliver HSE-related training onboard vessels.
- Identify and recommend areas for improvement.
- Promote safe practices through Group campaigns, competitions, and incentives.
- Communicate / coordinate HSE matters through safety and toolbox meetings, and safety alerts.
- Ensure emergency preparedness by conducting shipboard drills and debriefings.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years' experience with a towage or offshore services provider is required.
A valid STCW Certificate of Competency as a Deck Officer, ideally minimum II/2 as a Chief Officer (or above), is essential.
A Nebosh Certificate is mandatory.
Experience with ISO 9001/14001 standards is necessary.
Experience with behavioral safety programs is required.
The ideal candidate should be a team player with a collaborative approach and able to engage and partner at all organizational levels.
Strong analytical and numerical skills are required.
A builder, self-starter, and energetic person with excellent communication skills is desired.
Fluency in English (verbally and in written) is a must, and Arabic is an advantage.
