About the Role

This is a senior-level position that requires a high degree of expertise in drilling and workover operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operations of contract drilling or workover rigs, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and oversee all operations performed on company wells, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Makes recommendations on alternative methods or equipment when unusual situations are encountered, ensuring that the company's interests are protected.
  • Coordinates deliveries of materials to the well, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available when required.
  • Ensures that contractors meet all requirements of their contracts, including safety and environmental standards.
  • Collaborates with drilling and workover engineers to ensure that modern drilling practices are followed, and that all operations are carried out in accordance with company procedures.
  • Approves contractor daily tour reports, ensuring that all activities are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Ensures that contractor rig and equipment are properly maintained to avoid downtime, and that all necessary repairs and maintenance are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed by the Superintendent, ensuring that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensures that company blowout prevention standards are met in all respects, including equipment configuration, testing, and crew response.
Requirements
  • The successful candidate will be required to relocate permanently to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Completion of ITC: English ERW; Math MI is required.
  • Thirteen (13) years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations, including supervisory experience, typically acquired through progression on a drilling or workover rig.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience working in drilling and workover operations, including sufficient supervisory experience on a drilling or workover rig.
  • Willingness to reside in remote areas in mobile camps is essential.
