Position Overview

The Senior Production Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring seamless coordination across various operational support teams throughout multiple phases of project execution, including detailed design, fabrication, offshore installation, and hook-up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the collaboration among production engineers and support teams.
  • Assess and communicate the resource requirements for production engineering to the Division Production Engineer.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and productivity metrics.
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding of the contractual scope, contract type, and milestone schedules.
  • Evaluate constructability and optimize work execution plans for maximum efficiency.
  • Conduct fabrication planning sessions and prioritize material and drawing requirements accordingly.
  • Document all changes in scope of work and coordinate updates to the AFC estimates.
  • Initiate and approve all revision orders and change orders through the designated channels.
  • Address technical challenges and initiate site queries to minimize disruptions and enhance productivity.
  • Exemplify adherence to company safety protocols.
  • Facilitate fabrication planning meetings and forecast engineering and fabrication needs to align with project schedules.
  • Manage weekly updates on fabrication progress and ensure adherence to budget constraints.
  • Handle scope changes and ensure that AFC estimates are current, initiating necessary revisions and change orders.
  • Prepare project-specific task lists based on scope, schedules, and specifications.
  • Lead the kickoff meeting at the project's commencement.
  • Identify and supervise the necessary production engineering resources to meet fabrication productivity targets.
  • Inform fabrication management of any issues impacting forecasted progress and productivity.
  • Develop a work pack index, setting priorities and deliverable timelines for discipline teams.
  • Guide discipline groups on material ordering priorities and scheduling to align with fabrication sequences.
  • Review material expediting reports and communicate any concerns to procurement teams.
  • Resolve project-specific construction challenges with assistance from the Division Production Engineer as needed.
  • Authorize technical correspondence to be sent to clients.
  • Direct discipline groups on engineering deliverable priorities to meet project and contractual obligations.
  • Create a project fabrication execution plan that meets contract requirements efficiently.
  • Collaborate with key project personnel, including cost engineers, marine operations engineers, and quality managers.
  • Lead the constructability program efforts for fabrication.
  • Incorporate lessons learned from fabrication into the global lessons learned database.
  • Identify potential project risks and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with client representatives.
  • Lead fabrication proposal initiatives in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in offshore and petrochemical sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a discipline production engineer.
