Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • FA Level 2 / UEFA C minimum
  • Member of a FA to maintain their Coach License or International equivalent
  • Education in sports coaching or teaching
  • Relevant safeguarding training (e.g., FA Safeguarding Children Workshop)
  • DBS check at the appropriate level and clearance by the Manchester City Safeguarding Officer
  • Experience working in a football environment
  • Proven experience working with players from varying backgrounds and cultures
  • Experience implementing and developing a football coaching syllabus
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of planning, delivering, and reviewing sessions
  • Knowledge and understanding of player development and the four-corner model
  • Experience working within a professional Football Club or sporting organization
  • Flexibility to travel when required to support projects both in the UK and internationally
  • Able to create a positive working environment representing Manchester City and the local partner in the marketplace
  • Demonstrate how to coach and develop players of differing levels of ability
  • Effective communication with players on and off the field in various settings
  • Organized in planning, preparation, and execution within a project
  • Able to self-review sessions with individual players
  • Evaluate and review programs on completion
