Responsibilities

The Structural Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks related to construction and maintenance of civil structures.

They will prepare and mix materials according to specifications, plan work from blueprints or specifications, and estimate materials.

The technician will document all work performed and materials used, determine the method and sequence of work operations, and ensure the quality and size of raw stock and hardware necessary to complete assignments.

They will perform minor repairs to civil structures, paint, tile, and gypsum work, repair or replace concrete, terrazzo, quarry tile, wall tile, ceramic floor, and specialty floors.

The technician will assist in erecting barricades and placing warning signals around work sites, and operate sandblasting equipment to smooth or prepare metal, masonry, or similar surfaces.

All duties and responsibilities associated with the Mason classification will be performed by the technician.
