  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and project management, to ensure seamless collaboration during the estimation process.
  • Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for professional development within the team.
  • Cost Estimation: Oversee the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overheads.
  • Project Analysis: Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to determine the scope of work and required resources.

  • Client Liaison: Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather relevant information and clarify project requirements during the estimation process.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best possible pricing and terms.
  • Estimate Presentation: Present and justify estimates and tender submissions to senior management and clients.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all estimates are prepared in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the performance of completed projects against initial estimates to identify areas for improvement.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed estimation reports to senior management, highlighting key assumptions, risks, and opportunities.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all estimation activities, including bid submissions, cost analyses, and project documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Membership: Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, or similar is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in construction estimation, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and cost management principles. Proficiency in estimation software such as CostX, WinQS, or similar.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail.
