Wood is seeking a proficient Piping Cost Estimator for a temporary engagement. The ideal candidate will possess substantial expertise in the oil and gas petrochemical sector and will be an integral part of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the estimating team by delivering quantity assessments for the Bill of Quantities in alignment with the engineering specifications for multidiscipline scope during the preparation of estimates.
  • Integrate subcontractor unit rates into the quantities outlined in the Bill of Quantities, utilizing information from construction contractors based on pre-issued scope of work inquiries.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree from a technical university
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity within Oil & Gas industry projects
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting strategies and reports to management, as well as engaging with contractors and vendors
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic team setting and meet stringent deadlines
  • Experienced in report writing and adept at problem-solving, with the capability to identify and resolve technical and commercial challenges that may arise during projects
  • Skilled in using relevant software and calculation templates
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in applying standards, processes, and procedures in work execution
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Technically proficient in the relevant discipline, committed to ongoing professional development in line with industry standards
  • Familiarity with Schedule of Rates contracts and various estimating methodologies employed by construction subcontractors
