We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Stantec in Abu Dhabi. As a key member of our Middle East operations, you will play a crucial role in the development of our Electrical and I&C systems.

The successful candidate will lead the design, implementation, and management of our Electrical systems, ensuring they meet the highest industry standards. Your expertise will be essential in providing technical advice and guidance to our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and document Electrical systems, including I&C and Telecommunication systems, for transmission water networks.
  2. Provide technical advice and guidance on Electrical and control systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  3. Lead the development of design and implementation standards, ensuring our clients remain current with evolving design methods.
  4. Review and comment on Electrical system drawings, including site location instrumentation layout drawings, layout drawings, control schematic diagrams, and control system equipment.
  5. Act as the client's representative in design meetings, providing solutions and recommendations to evolve a standard design philosophy.
  6. Coordinate with consultants in the preparation of method statements related to Electrical systems.
  7. Develop and establish design and implementation standards, with periodic reviews to ensure our clients remain current with evolving design methods.

Requirements:

  • 4-year engineering degree (Electrical, Electronic, or similar) or equivalent. Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and/or managing Electrical systems and components in the 24x7 continuous process drainage, sewer, or water utility industry.
  • Hands-on experience in the design of I&C systems and demonstrable work experience on at least 4 major projects.
  • Developed interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to interact effectively with multicultural teams.
  • Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults on critical equipment.
  • Ability to prepare and present technical and non-technical documentation.
  • Proven ability to perform in a key technical leadership role, good written and oral communications skills, and thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • In addition, must be knowledgeable of current technology and how it can be effectively utilized on the project.
  • Previous experience with consultancy firms holding the same Resident Engineer role.
