Job Overview:
The General Manager/Operations Manager will be responsible for setting up and managing the equine hospital from inception to operational excellence. This includes overseeing the procurement of medical equipment, designing the facility layout, hiring and training staff, and ensuring the hospital runs efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hospital Setup and Planning:
Lead the planning and execution of the equine hospital setup, including facility design, layout, and infrastructure. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure the facility meets all regulatory and operational requirements. - Procurement and Equipment Management:
Identify and procure high-quality medical equipment, tools, and supplies necessary for equine healthcare. Evaluate and select reputable brands and suppliers for medical equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with industry standards. - Operational Management:
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the hospital's day-to-day operations. Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of hospital staff, including veterinarians, technicians, and administrative personnel. Ensure the hospital complies with all local, national, and international regulations and standards for equine healthcare. - Quality Assurance and Patient Care:
Ensure the highest standards of equine care and patient safety are maintained at all times. Implement quality assurance programs to monitor and improve hospital services.
