Position Overview:

PCB Operator: The PCB Operator is tasked with the installation of electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to specified designs, performing soldering tasks, and conducting quality inspections. The role involves operating various equipment along the PCB production line, including both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole Technology (THP) processes, which encompass solder paste screen-printing, automatic solder paste inspection, pick and place operations, reflow, automated quality inspections, washing, conformal coating, and functional testing (including X-Ray inspections).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints and job specifications to identify part numbers, colors, quantities, and assembly instructions.
  • Install components on PCBs in the designated order as per the design and loading list; solder components using a soldering station following standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare each job by arranging and configuring all necessary equipment with the correct atomizing air pressure and flow rates.
  • Conduct visual inspections of assembled boards to identify missing components, incorrect values, and ensure proper soldering, aiming for zero defects.
  • Operate the production line by loading racks, selecting and installing the appropriate programs, and adjusting machine controls according to production run sheets.
  • Strive to meet productivity and quality benchmarks, ensuring maximum output with minimal quality issues.
  • Inspect operations against predetermined tolerances and standards.
  • Identify process disruptions and delays, reporting potential issues for timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with technicians and supervisors to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
  • Consistently work towards minimizing repetitive errors and enhancing work processes.
  • Maintain accurate logs and records, documenting the number of components assembled and software utilized.
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and quality standards while wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum: 3 years of relevant experience in PCB assembly.

Preferred: 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Education:

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent in a related field.

Preferred: Certification as a PCB Assembly Operator.
