Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Professor of Strategic Communications at AJMAN UNIVERSITY. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses in public relations, strategic communications, media writing, crisis communication, social media management, and corporate communication.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations and communication theory, with expertise in areas such as reputation management, digital public relations, and public relations campaigns.
  • A Ph.D. in communication, mass communication, or a relevant discipline is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in Public Relations or a marketing communication field.
  • Previous teaching experience in Public Relations at a graduate level is an asset, as well as previous involvement in online teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver online courses to students in the specified discipline areas of study, evaluating and monitoring individual student progress and providing feedback to sustain student success.
  • Research and Scholarly Activity: Conduct original research in the field of public relations, exploring areas like public perception, media impact, communication strategies, and PR ethics, publishing research in leading academic journals and presenting findings at national and international conferences focused on public relations and communication.
  • Industry Engagement and Application: Bring practical PR experience into the classroom through guest speakers, case study analysis, and industry partnerships, maintaining strong connections with PR professionals, agencies, and corporate communication departments to ensure the relevance of the curriculum and to provide students with internship and employment opportunities.
  • Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise graduate students working on theses, dissertations, and research projects, offering guidance on developing their research questions, methodologies, and academic writing, overseeing student capstone projects, and assisting students in securing internships with PR agencies or communication departments.
