- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Report Preparation: Prepare reports for physician review, summarizing test results and any relevant findings.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for testing and analysis.
- Quality Control: Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, and ensure that all testing and analysis procedures are conducted in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely patient care, and communicate test results and findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Education and Certification: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field, and certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
- Experience: Proven experience working as a Medical Laboratory Technician, with a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Skills and Abilities: Proficient in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge and Familiarity: Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR), and knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory safety protocols.
