Infrastructure Specialist Job Description

As Algorithmic Trading Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust systems to acquire, store, and retrieve historical market data from multiple financial exchanges, brokers, and market data vendors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable data storage solutions to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis for research and backtesting needs.
  • Implement data validation, cleansing, and normalization processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Work closely with quantitative researchers and traders to understand their data requirements and optimize data retrieval and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working with distributed data systems and tools like Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipeline architecture.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Rust, with expertise in Linux/Unix and data storage management.
  • Commercial experience of financial instruments and markets (equities, futures, options, forex, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
