Job Description

Penspen is seeking a highly skilled Telecom Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop telecommunications systems and networks for oil and gas projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of telecom systems with other infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed engineering design documents for telecom systems.
  • Conduct technical analysis of engineering problems and provide solutions.
  • Prepare non-critical engineering design documents and ensure compliance with international codes and standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering with relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • Master's degree in relevant discipline will be an added advantage.
  • 6-10 years of oil and gas design experience.
  • Previous experience in region will be an advantage.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of basic engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards, and engineering practices.
  • Detail engineering of telecommunications systems involving SDH/SONET, DWDM network design/configuration using backbone fiber optic cable for data, voice, and video, radio-microwave-VHF/UHF & VSAT communication.
  • Hardware and software configuration of networking interfaces for SCADA/DCS/RTU.
  • Knowledge of telephone and PA/GA systems, CCTV, security access control systems, and structured cabling for industrial premises.
  • Knowledge of communication channel allocation plan, network management system.
