Policy Development Participation:

  • Contribute to the formulation of Environmental Health & Safety policies and procedures relevant to the operations of EH&S, Sales and Marketing, Account Executives, Covanta facilities, and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (biology, chemistry, environmental science, occupational health and safety) or engineering (environmental, chemical, mechanical, industrial hygiene, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and presentation software.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, ASME, NPPA, DOT regulations, EPA Clean Water Act, and RCRA requirements.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in safety and/or environmental roles focusing on compliance with OSHA, ANSI, ASME, NFPA, and DOT standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Capability to effectively present information to groups of clients or organizational staff.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as safety and environmental regulations, operational and maintenance guidelines, federal regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Competence in drafting routine reports and correspondence.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including concepts of probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to real-world scenarios.
  • Excellent analytical and statistical skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
