Job Title:

Assistant/Associate Professor in Arabic Language Teacher Education

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver pre-service and in-service Arabic language teacher education programs and assessments for Early Years, Primary OR Secondary school settings.
  • Contribute to the development of other graduate courses and programs at ECAE.
  • Supervise students in their assignments, including research-based and school placement projects.
  • Maintain regular partnership school visits to support students during their professional practice placements and collaborate with school-based mentors.
  • Engage in educational research related to Arabic teacher education and literacy, contributing to ECAE's research profile.
  • Participate in committee service and other activities as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.
  • PhD in a relevant subject or close to completion.
  • Masters degree in Arabic Language or Applied Linguistics with a practical teaching component, or other relevant qualifications with sustained teaching experience in Arabic Language education.
  • At least 2 years' experience teaching, assessing, and developing courses and materials in Arabic Language teacher education within a higher education context.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience teaching Arabic language in schools.
  • Experience providing learning support for graduate students.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ability to combine online and face-to-face teaching in a blended mode of delivery.
