About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Design Engineer to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our building services team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality HVAC systems for various applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educational Background: A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on designing HVAC systems and a proven track record of successfully completed HVAC engineering projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in HVAC modeling software and tools, including Revit, Autocad, and HAP.
  • Delivering HVAC Design: Producing ventilation system design deliverables, including Ventilation Flow Diagrams (VFDs), Basis of Design (BoD), Plant Sizing Calculations (Heating / Cooling / Fan Sizing), and Control Philosophy.
  • Fluid Mechanics and Pipe Flow: In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, pipe flow, pump selection, and chilled water system design.
  • Code Compliance: Knowledge of local and international codes and standards related to HVAC engineering.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience ensuring projects comply with relevant regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Report Writing: Strong report writing skills.
  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrates working knowledge of external forces impacting GHD, including financial, market, economic, legal, and regulatory environments, and how GHD responds to them commercially.
  • Agile Learning: Actively learns through experimentation and experience and seeks ways to grow and be challenged by new and novel conditions.
