Job Summary:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team in Dubai, UAE. As a key member of our infrastructure projects team, you will be responsible for performing complex field engineering assignments, supervising construction activities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers and personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.
  • Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
  • Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations.
  • Maintain coordination with authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Perform difficult and complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.
  • Maintain first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within your discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Supervise the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
  • Ensure that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain liaison with the discipline design engineering staff.
  • Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
  • Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinate application of solutions.
  • Develop discipline construction schedules and monitor progress. Provide schedule and progress appraisal report to the Manager.
  • Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
  • Ensure that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
  • Organize the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
  • Initiate and maintain records, progress reports, etc., as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer registration may be required.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction and supervision work experience in Infrastructure projects like Roads and Utilities, within UAE.
  • Experience in fast track prestigious projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience using computer software.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate logically and clearly with management and staff.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a familiarity of industry practices and regulations are required.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of current technology and be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
