Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Anantara Hotels & Resorts is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to Guest Requests: Respond promptly and efficiently to guest repair requests, ensuring that all issues are resolved to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Guest Service: Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their needs to ensure a positive experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems, as well as interpret readings from meters and gauges.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to comprehend their needs and provide information and assistance.
  • Maintenance Management: Check for new maintenance requests from the maintenance system and update remarks once the task is completed.
  • Work Order Management: Update the maintenance work order form the maintenance system.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret readings from meters and gauges and other measuring units, prioritize and organize work assignments, and exercise good judgment in high-pressure situations.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to focus attention on details, speed, and accuracy, as well as maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
  • Security: Ability to ensure security of guest room access and hotel property.
  • Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
  • Maintenance Activities: Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms, including plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing hardware, electrical equipment, and cosmetic items.
  • Public Area Maintenance: Perform maintenance activities in hotel public areas, including plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing hardware, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Program TVs, perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties, and maintain inventory levels.
  • Equipment Repair: Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repair on all types of equipment.
  • Tool Maintenance: Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel.
  • Emergency Response: Operate as an independent mechanic, analyzing problems, identifying courses of action, and implementing solutions with available resources and to a high degree of quality.
  • Fire Safety: Monitor fire alarm/life safety systems as necessary, be fully informed of the system operation, and handle emergencies involving the systems.
  • Blueprints and Schematics: Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
  • Instructions: Carry out specific oral and written instructions.
  • Inventory Requisition: Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Appearance and Confidentiality: Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Hotel Facility Maintenance: Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Training and Development: Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Supervisor or Chief Engineer, train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Must have the appropriate documented training from a technical/vocational institute.
  • Experience: One year operating experience in a hotel engineering department.
  • Technical Skills: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
