We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Meta, where you will play a key role in the development of highly complex electrical systems. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for owning the electrical development of these systems, ensuring they meet product goals, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement electrical architectures for complex systems, ensuring they meet product requirements and are scalable for high-volume production.
  2. Lead electrical design reviews and provide technical leadership to ensure that electrical systems are designed and developed to meet product goals.
  3. Design and develop electrical schematics, board layouts, and other related documentation to support the development of electrical systems.
  4. Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to evaluate new technologies and components, and propose innovative solutions to enhance product performance and features.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, optics, sensors, firmware, and software engineers, to develop systems and manage trade-offs.
  6. Work in a distributed team environment and contribute to building and sustaining internal Meta community through recruitment, mentorship, allyship, and a commitment to Meta's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  7. Inform prioritization of work across teams and disciplines and actively participate in resolving technical conflicts.
  8. Travel both domestically and internationally to support project needs.

Requirements

  1. 6+ years of industry experience in electrical design, with a strong background in electrical engineering fundamentals.
  2. BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  3. Proven knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals, including circuit design, signal processing, and system architecture.
  4. Experience with schematic and board design using Cadence OrCAD, Altium, or equivalent tools.
  5. Experience with oscilloscopes, high-speed digital test equipment, logic analyzers, or function generators.
  6. Experience working with multiple technologies, including digital signal processing, real-time image processing, display engineering, camera modules, mobile SoC and PMIC, or Battery Management System.
  7. Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups, and vendors against project plans.
  8. Proven technical communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  2. 12+ years of industry experience in electrical design.
  3. Experience with audio technologies, high-speed signaling, and IMUs/sensor physical sensor systems.
  4. Experience programming in languages like Python or C/C++.
  5. Experience with circuit design in high-speed circuits, Verilog/FPGAs, microcontrollers, microprocessors, firmware, and programmable logic-based development.
  6. Experience designing for HDI flexible and rigid substrates for high-volume cost-optimized applications.
  7. Experience developing manufacturing tests for high-volume consumer products.
  8. Experience defining system architecture based on product specifications.
  9. Consumer Electronics experience and/or working within a mass production environment.
