About the Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Equipment Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all tasks and duties of a mechanical discipline, including installing and maintaining engines, hydraulic motors, pumps, compressors, and miscellaneous mechanical devices.

The role is also responsible for uploading maintenance and repair data into a Maintenance Management System (MMS) and ensuring that all mechanical platform equipment is properly maintained and repaired.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Safety: Provide visible leadership with a Total Ownership attitude, own safety standards, and enforce, clarify, and follow company policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, maintain a preventative maintenance schedule, and troubleshoot and analyze mechanical malfunctions and failures.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Maintain records of all mechanical inventories, place orders as required within budgetary limits, and submit requisitions to the Rig Manager/Purchasing Manager for approval.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively in a team environment, taking into consideration alternative and diverse perspectives, and communicate effectively in English with staff, management, customers, and vendors.

Requirements:

  • Certifications and Licenses: Must possess and maintain certifications and licenses as required by the appropriate regulatory authorities.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable and proficient in basic rigger's role to ensure safe lifting operations are performed, knowledgeable of mechanical systems, and skilled at working with hand and power tools.
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, qualifications in Mechanical or Electronic Applications or past experience in rig operations, 5-10 years of relevant experience with mechanical, electronic, hydraulic equipment or similar experience in rig operations.
