Position Overview: The individual will oversee all managerial facets, including daily task distribution and supervision, of the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Engineering team while ensuring effective oversight of the Contractor during the Engineering and Procurement stages of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that PMC Engineering personnel possess the necessary competencies to fulfill their responsibilities as outlined in the PMC Contract.
  • Provide strategic leadership in the formulation and execution of engineering processes, procedures, and systems within the Engineering division.
  • Guarantee that the Engineering team is adequately staffed with the appropriate disciplines and size to meet the PMC Contract requirements.
  • Deliver independent Project Management Consultancy services, offering technical insights and recommendations to address deficiencies, formulate recovery strategies, mitigate risks, and sustain overall project momentum during the Engineering and Procurement phases.
  • Engage in design evaluations and analyses that align with project requirements, taking into account factors such as constructability, testability, operability, maintainability, environmental considerations, personnel safety, and material selection.
  • Oversee the systematic technical review, coordination, and processing of vendor documentation.
  • Secure the Owner's approval for engineering designs in accordance with contractual stipulations.
  • Manage daily interactions between projects and the various disciplines, including Piping, Mechanical, Structural, Electrical & Instrumentation, and specialized fields.
  • Participate in significant customer reviews and meetings as necessary.
  • Facilitate succession planning within the engineering team, particularly for critical roles.
  • Implement competency evaluations and regular performance reviews with the team.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to established procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide opportunities for professional development to broaden experience and capabilities.
  • Conduct site visits to exemplify safety leadership.
  • Develop and sustain effective operational practices for the project management team.
