Key Responsibilities

As a pivotal member of our team, you will oversee the seamless execution of all logistics and materials management tasks, which include but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and maintaining an efficient warehousing and materials control operation at designated locations.
  • Coordinating warehouse operations to ensure optimal efficiency and performance, including effective labor utilization.
  • Managing the allocation, control, and distribution of materials across various sites and liaising with carriers to meet project timelines.
  • Generating shipping documentation for all material movements.
  • Updating procurement systems promptly with receipts, manifests, and shipping documents.
  • Handling warehouse activities such as OS&D checks, preparation for shipping, and loading of shipments.
  • Overseeing freight forwarding, import/export, and customs compliance activities.
  • Identifying and managing material shortages and surpluses effectively.
  • Controlling inventory in accordance with established regimes, ensuring accuracy through monitoring and regular stock checks.
  • Requisitioning and managing small tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Producing materials status reports for project stakeholders.
  • Coordinating material supply for fabrication items and ensuring proper maintenance of stored materials.
  • Participating in project progress and pre-production meetings.
  • Liaising with project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers to resolve material supply challenges.
  • Ensuring all supply chain activities align with project execution plans and budgets while adhering to established processes and procedures.
  • Updating project status reports in accordance with client requirements and notifying management of any supply chain delays.
  • Conducting all activities in compliance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct and ensuring all documentation is accurate and fully auditable.
  • Promoting safe working practices and demonstrating a commitment to safety.
  • Performing additional tasks as reasonably requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Educational qualifications at ISCED Level 4/5 (post-secondary non-tertiary/short-cycle tertiary).
  • Demonstrated experience in materials and logistics management, showcasing a track record of results and progression to a similar role.
  • Comprehensive work experience in the industry, providing a solid understanding of inventory, material control, and logistics principles.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Maximo, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong grasp of supply chain principles and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and logical thinking abilities.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Methodical approach to processing work activities.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and prioritize workloads.
  • Capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Independently driven to achieve project objectives.
