We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Response Specialist to join our team at Al Nahiya Group. This role is crucial for ensuring safety and preparedness in emergency situations.
QualificationsEducational Background: Completion of secondary education or an equivalent qualification is essential. Alternatively, candidates with a college or vocational background in fire protection technology will be considered.
Certifications: NFPA levels 1 and 2 certifications may be required, or their British equivalents. Additionally, candidates must possess emergency medical care training and relevant certifications.
Licensing: A valid UAE Driving License for both heavy and light vehicles is preferable.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a professional firefighter is required, preferably in airport, port, or offshore environments. Experience within the UAE is an advantage.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Emergency Response Specialist will be responsible for:
- Operating all safety equipment during incidents, particularly those involving oil and toxic gas release fires.
- Responding promptly to fire alarms and rescue calls on-site.
- Maintaining firefighting equipment, safety gear, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in optimal condition.
- Attending emergency sites with the necessary vehicles and equipment as directed by the Safety Foreman or Chief Fireman.
- Coordinating with medical personnel and specialized fire brigades based on site requirements.
- Conducting daily safety patrols and maintaining standby readiness at heliports.
- Participating in mutual aid agreements and ensuring all firefighting equipment is well-maintained.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong understanding of local and international safety legislation and regulations.
- Expertise in firefighting techniques, rescue operations, and first aid.
- In-depth knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations and standards.
